Control Goose Populations with GEESE OFF!

GEESE OFF! provides the most effective and humane solutions to control and stabilize Canada goose populations. Our experienced team, elite training program, and innovative methods ensure your property remains goose-free.

Expert Training for Effective Results

Our training program is designed to build off of the natural herding instincts innate in Border Collies. All of our dogs are started on sheep and transition to flightless ducks and eventually to geese. This progression not only shifts the dogs from sheep to birds as the target livestock animal but also reinforces that the birds are not to be touched during their work. Over several months, dogs will bond with their handlers to work as a proficient team. Additionally, we have an obedience instructor on staff with over 20 years experience in dog obedience training and a relationship with one of the premier trainers for geese dogs on the East Coast.

  • Upstate Facility: 60+ acres of fields to simulate real world conditions.

  • Sheep and Ducks: Provide varied training scenarios.

  • Pond and Swim Training: Ensure dogs are ready for any situation.

Population Stabilization

A humane method of controlling gosling populations called “egg addling” involves treating or removing eggs early in development to prevent hatching. This limits geese in unwanted areas and allows adults to move to safer areas for the molt before summer conflicts peak.

  • Humanely, effectively and ethically control the rising population of resident Canada geese.
  • Helps maintain ecological balance.
  • GEESE OFF! trains employees in, and follows all, prescribed requirements of the USFWS for addling.

  • Addling services are at no extra charge.
Supplementary Tools

While our dogs are our heroes, they aren’t alone in the field. We utilize additional tools to ensure complete control:

  • Lights for Night Work: Extend operations beyond daylight hours.
  • Kayaks on Water: Border collies are used in conjunction with handlers in kayaks to drive geese away by disrupting their water sanctuary and forcing them to move on.
  • Habitat Modification: Create an environment less attractive to geese.
